Gematria how to spell

words

gematria is an esoteric system of numerology which assigns numeric values to words, names, and other phrases in order to uncover supposedly hidden meanings. In addition to its use for mystical or philosophical purposes, gematria can also be used for learning how to spell complex words.

Most of the English language is composed of basic one- or two-syllable words, which can be spelled easily enough by most people. But there are also a number of longer and more challenging words which need to be spelled correctly. By applying the arcane principles of gematria, you can decipher even the longest word.

First, it's important to understand that a gematria value is assigned to each letter in an alphabet. A = 1, B = 2 and so on until Z = 26. Once you know these values, you can begin deciphering longer words. To do this, simply write out the letters of the word you wish to spell and then add up their corresponding gematria values. The result will indicate how many syllables are in your word and also give you clues about overall pronunciation. It might also provide information about uncommon combinations of letters within long words that may not come immediately intuitively.

To illustrate how this works: the word "acknowledgement" has 11 letters (A-C-K-N-O-W-L-E-D-G-M-E-N) and its corresponding gematria values equal 131 (1+3+11 +14+15+23+12+5+4+7+13). Since 131 is not an even number like 52 (A=1 & K=11), we know that "acknowledgement" must contain at least three separate parts/syllables broken down as "a/ck/now/ledge/ment". You can dispel any confusion by saying each syllable aloud until you perfect your spelling of the full word "acknowledgement".

Finally, don't forget about the modern use for gematria: SMS shorthand or text speak! Place a small 'x' (or unicode version) after each letter in a given word or phrase so that it spells out with only 151 characters max - easy enough! For example; "I'm Ready x4x2x1x3x2x2" = I'm Ready = 155 characters max! Apply this approach to most any long phrase or complex name and save time when texting friends who may suffer from abbreviations overload!
